Spay-Neuter Surgery by Appointment Only 

  • Spay/Neuter surgery services are for healthy dogs and cats 3 months of age and older and between 3 and 120 lbs.
  • Surgery drop-off starts at 7:05 AM for dogs and 8:00 AM for cats.
  • Drop-off is first come, first served, and the process may take over an hour.
  • All dogs must be secured on a leash and all cats must be in a secured carrier.
  • Proof of current rabies vaccination is required (Certificate or Veterinary record only – Tag is not accepted as proof). If your pet is not up to date, a rabies vaccine will be added to your invoice and administered during the visit.
  • For faster check-in, please complete the online surgical consent form. This form is emailed to you when your appointment is scheduled. You can also review it here.
  • Due to our high-volume/affordable nature, some breeds, weights, and pre-existing conditions might not be accepted for surgery.
 

SNAP will NOT provide surgery to pets with:

  • Seizures
  • Diabetes
  • History of previous C-sections or abdominal surgeries
  • Signs of congestive heart failure
  • Signs of moderate to advanced respiratory disease
  • Signs of moderate to advanced heart disease
  • Bloody diarrhea

A $25 Deposit is Required to Schedule Surgery Appointments 

  • If the appointment is kept, the deposit may be applied toward services or refunded. Clients who fail to show up for their appointment will forfeit their deposit and must prepay in full to reschedule.
  • To cancel your appointment without penalty, email us at ingramclinic@snapus.org by 7:00 AM the day before the appointment.
  • Surgery appointments arriving after 8:45 AM will need to be rescheduled.
 

Feral/Community Cats & Walk-In Public Surgeries

  • Feral/community cats are accepted as same day walk-in surgeries.
  • Public walk-in surgery spaces are not guaranteed and will only be used if capacity has not been reached. To ask for a possible spot, please arrive by 8:00 AM and be ready to wait until intake is done to see if a space is available.
  • Feral/community cats must be in humane traps. Ear tipping is required for all feral/community cats.

A SNAP team member will return your call within 24 to 48 hours to assist you with scheduling an appointment
 

 

Subsidy Opportunities Available

SNAP Ingram (6758 Ingram Rd San Antonio, TX 78238-4121) offers several programs that provide free or discounted spay and neuter services for owned dogs and cats. 

Eligibility Requirements: 
  • Only owned pets qualify — no fosters, strays, or feral animals. 
  • Owners must be 18 years or older. 
  • Proof of eligibility is required for the program you apply for. 
  • Limited availability while funding lasts. 
  • Restrictions may apply based on zip code, animal size, or species.

  • Or visit our SNAP Ingram Clinic to inquire in person between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Vaccine and Prevention Services by Appointment Only 

Open Monday &  Friday. (Monitor our website for openings or changes).

  • We are closed for lunch 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM.
  • A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for office visit.
  • To expedite your check-in process, please sign the Vaccine & Prevention Clinic Consent Form linked in your appointment confirmation email. You can also access the form here.
  • Proof of current rabies vaccine is required for all animals served or a vaccine will be administered.

We are able to offer high-quality, affordable spay/neuter and wellness services by limiting our practice to these areas.

If your dog or cat is injured or ill, please take him/her to a full-service veterinary clinic. Because SNAP’s primary mission is preventing animal homelessness, suffering, and neglect resulting from overpopulation, we require that all animals over six months of age receiving our vaccine and prevention services be spayed/neutered. Clients should read our SNAP Policies before making an appointment.
